This morning we woke up in Brno! We started off our day with a nice breakfast at the hotel. From there once everyone was checked out we each went with our designated class for what was on the schedule.

For my class, The Art of Estrangement, we took a guided tour of an art studio that consisted of 8 different artists. What was cool about this is they all have a very different style of artistry that differentiates them but they all work and co-exist in the same building. A funny thing about the building is that it is over a century old and if these artists didn’t use it as their work space it most likely would have fallen down. To think they work inside a piece of history!
My favorite artist was Ondřej Kotrč. He drew what were Care Bears essentially (but he only refers to them as bears) so his work was very vibrant and colorful! Some other artists included a sculptor, an airbrush painter that used velvet fabric as his medium, and an artist that completely focused on work that dealt with folded paper?!

After our tour we were free for lunch and my crew and I went to a spot called Jean Paul’s where we ate soup and pasta with some raspberry lemonade (so good). After lunch, we stopped for some gelato, I got Nutella banana gelato and we walked back to the Hotel.

Eventually everyone made it back to the hotel to get on the bus to go back to Prague. On our 2 hour trip we did work, listened to music, napped, played games, or if you were in the back of the bus, played an intense game song quiz!

All around it was a wonderful day in Brno!
